Akeni Instant Messenger is a hosted service that allows
companies to have their own corporate IM service.
The application is hosted on Akeni's own server, with us providing
the administration and support for it. All you need to do is to download
and install a small, easy to use client side software.
You can optionally skip the installation of the software all together by
using a web based interface through your browser.

Encryption:
All communication, including file transfer, is done through an 128-bit
encrypted channel to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of the data.

Access to the system are done using a zero-knowledge protocol that
authentificates both the server and the client.

to talk to people outside of the system. This will decrease the amount of time

Advanced Features

Message Auditing: All messages can be logged by the server for auditing purposes.

Message Logging: All activities are logged to HTML files
so that they can be browsed later using your favorite browser.

Public Forums:
This is a public chat room where people can join and leave at any time
and have discussion with one another.
The content of the forum is permanent and will be displayed whenever
one joins the forum.
The Administrator can also create "members only" forums.

User Trust Level: The administrator can create "untrusted" accounts
that can be contacted but can not contact another untrusted user. For example, this can be used to setup student accounts so that teachers can
talk to students and students to teachers, but students can not
chat with each other.

Secured Defaults: Unlike public IM systems, our system is designed
from the ground up with security in mind. There are no "unsafe" ways to run
the program. Only people on the contact list can send/receive messages,
thus eliminating all spams.

Drag & Drop Support: Most operations are available via
drag and drop. Drag a file from your desktop and drop it on top of the
recipient's name to start a file transfer. Drag the names of co-workers and
drop them in a conference window to invite them to a conference, etc.

Cross Platform: Both the server and the client software are
available for Microsoft Windows and Linux. All version of the software
inter-operates seamlessly, making the Pro Edition a good solution for
heterogeneous computer environments.
